Ecuador, the next stop on the Basque Culinary Center’s international tour, led by Juan Mari Arzak

The delegation, which arrived in Ecuador on 23 July as part of its international Conexión Culinaria – Culinary Connection tour, will remain in that country until Sunday 27. The delegation is made up by Juan Mari Arzak, the General Director of the Basque Culinary Center, Joxe Mari Aizega, and the teachers at the Center Jorge Bretón, Angel Fernandez de Retana and Mikel Zeberio.

During its stay, the Basque Culinary Center delegation will participate in the Ecuadorean Gastronomic Conference entitled “Raíces” (Roots) and Juan Mari Arzak will receive the Ilustre Award conferred by the Guayaquil City Council.

The Conexión Culinaria-Culinary Connection initiative aims to foster innovation and avant-garde cooking all over the world. It also aims to forge connections between chefs and institutions from different countries who are active within the field of contemporary gastronomy, in order to set up an international culinary network.
